ISO vs GP resin
ISO Resin is a medium viscosity, medium reactive polyester resin based on Isophthalic acid. It exhibits good chemical resistance and can thus handle chlorine and pool acid very well. And when compared to general-purpose resins (GP), which is really more used for building and repairs of boats or molds, ISO Resin is perfectly designed for your fibreglass swimming pool.
Marking the pool shape and size
Although we construct both normal paving pools and rock pools equaly successfully. With a paving pool many are symmetric shaped being either square or rectangle. It is simple to put some pegs into the ground according to the sizes agreed and connect with a line. But many years ago I was confronted with the challenge to mark out and deliver a pool with an unusual or random shape with the natural type look which suited a rock pool type feel. The important part is to deliver an end product of the correct size and quantity of water inside the same as a symmetric pool. Curves can easily cut the size of the pool if not managed correctly. The answer to the problem is as follows: a rectangle parameter say 3m x 5 m for example is 16m. So it is now simple to measure 16m on your hosepipe, connect end together and lay out any shape your heart desires limited only by the lenght of the pipe. Exactly the same volume of water will fit in such a pool as a 3m x 5m rectangular pool.
When marking out a pool with turns and curves it is critical to have professional experience to not make the mistake of designing a shape where the cleaning machine does not get stuck in a part of the pool or miss cleaning a section of the pool
Digging The Hole
The hole will be dug mostly by hand labour as many customer properties are not big enough for access with big machinery. Furthermore machines leave a lot of additional labour to be done as the hole sides get broken down with machines moving into and out of the pool. the sidewalls will then need to be rebuilt and compacted with sandbags. Making the process more specialized and labour intensive. An average pool is normally dug in a day or two depending on size.
Determine correct levels
To pinpoint the correct upper level around the pool is very important for a successful pool or the cause of failed attempt. To fix a wrongly laid out level for a pool is almost impossible without starting from scratch. The natural contour of area around the pool must be taken in account to assure storm water flow does not to end up in the pool. Creating retaining walls afterwards to channel water away from pool can become very costly.
